Thank you, Oshawa!

On July 21, 2019, 260 of our volunteers (a record number) opted not just to GO to church, but to BE the church to our community. They delivered door hangers in advance to over 5000 homes, then knocked on doors this past Sunday to collect donations. Oshawa, we are grateful to you for being the caring community that you are. And so are our partners at Simcoe Hall Settlement House.

6 TONS of Food

If you’ve ever felt like your small donation will never be enough to meet the need, you need to remember you’re not doing it alone. This year, we collected and donated more than 6 TONS of food, thanks to your generosity. When everyone does their part, the impact is that much greater.

Did You Know?

The summer months are lean months for Simcoe Hall’s food bank, as their donations typically decline. Recently in only ONE MONTH, Ontario food banks served 375, 789 – more people than the combined populations of Kingston, Guelph and Thunder Bay combined. The need is great. And you rose up to meet it.

Together We All Win

This was a win all around. Hungry families will be fed, those with enough to get by got to pay it forward, and volunteers laid their heads down at night knowing their hard work made a big difference.

Look for Us Next July

Be sure to look for us in your neighbourhood again next year when we hit the streets in search of awesome people like you. And thanks again for helping us make this a food drive to remember. Well, done, Oshawa!
