Young Adults Ministry is a thriving community of believers who are serious about keeping God at the centre of our lives. We hang out on a regular basis to fellowship, pray, worship and share life together, as well as with those who have yet to know Jesus Christ.
Exciting things have started up this September with the launching of Get a Grip Ministries, which is basically the merging of our Jr Youth, Youth and Young Adults together. What does that mean? Well, we're sharing an awesome time in worshipping our God and learning his word on Friday nights, along with the rest of the crew, and then breaking off into Life Groups to dig deeper through discussion. The Young Adults Life Groups are meeting in nearby coffee shops!
Also, for Young Adults, we've got great events coming up for building godly friendships, inviting people out, and reaching out to the community. Keep an eye on our current events listing (below), and on the OCC calendar and news to find out more!
Coming up this November: November 23rd is "Operation : Tackle Child!"
No worries, no child will be tackled. This is a combination event of tackle football and Operation Christmas Child. This is how it works : at 3pm, we'll be meeting at Oshawa Community Church for football. Guys and girls will be playing seperately. Come dressed appropriately for the weather and the nature of the event. At 5pm, we'll be gathering at the church to stuff shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. These special boxes get filled with toys, school supplies, clothing and hygiene items, and special treats to bless a child in a third world country this Christmas. Click on this link for details on how it works, and what to buy and not to buy. You'll need to go shopping beforehand so you can show up ready with the items for the event. We'll divide the items into our 12 shoboxes based on what you bring!
See you on the 23rd!
